October to December 2023 – Representatives of the Planning Department introduced the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands project to secondary school students of the HKMA David Li Kwok Po College, Chiu Chow Association Secondary School, Fukien Secondary School, Creative Secondary School, Our Lady’s College and the Aberdeen Baptist Lui Ming Choi College through the Planning Department Outreach Programme

24 September 2023 - Representative of the Planning Department attended the Annual National Planning Conference 2022/2023 in Wuhan to introduce the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands project and share the proposed Smart, Green and Resilient City Strategy for combating climate change and achieving the carbon neutrality target
16 September 2023 - The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and Development Bureau co-organized a briefing tour at the Tung Chung Community Liaison Center to introduce the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands project to young people
16 September 2023 - Representatives of the Civil Engineering and Development Department shared with the students of Master of Science in Sustainable Environmental Design of the University of Hong Kong on the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands, in particular the strategy on climate change adaptation and initiatives on carbon neutrality
8 August to 8 September 2023 - An exhibition for Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands is set up at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning to introduce the preliminary proposals of the artificial islands
6 July 2023 - Mr. Raymond IP, Deputy Head of the Sustainable Lantau Office (Works) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department introduced the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands and exchanged opinions on large floating infrastructure in relation to sustainable urban development in “Annual International Symposium 2023- Urban Sustainability through Innovative Technologies” held by the Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

9 June 2023 - Urban Forestry and Biodiversity Focus Group conducted an in-depth discussion through video conference. Members supported the design framework and preliminary initiatives on the Urban Forestry and Biodiversity for Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands
8 June 2023 - At the 4th meeting of the Expert Advisory Panel for Study on the Artificial Islands in the Central Waters, experts reviewed the reclamation extent, broad land use, strategic transport infrastructure and possible financing options for the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands from their respective professional ambit, and provided beneficial advices for Study Team’s further planning and design
31 May 2023 - Carbon Neutrality Focus Group thoroughly examined and discussed the adoption of smart, green and resilient city strategy through video conference, to facilitate Kai Yi Chau Artificial Islands to achieve the carbon neutrality target before 2050
30 May 2023 - Expert Panel on Reclamation and Coastal Resilience conducted in-depth discussion through video conference on topics concerned by the public. The reliability of the adopted hydrodynamic model and coastal resilience strategy was also acknowledged
16 May 2023 - Mr. Jacky WU, Head of the Sustainable Office of the Civil Engineering and Development Department introduced the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands in a seminar (Chinese name:「未來海上人居工程發展技術研討會 」) held by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)
11 May 2023 - Representatives of the Planning Department attended the review of student assignments on Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands for the Master of Urban Design programme in CUHK
